Jagapathi Babu (born Veeramachaneni Jagapathi Rao Chowdary on February 12, 1962), affectionately known as "Jaggu Bhai," is a prolific Indian actor who predominantly works in Telugu cinema, alongside major roles in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. Born in Machilipatnam to veteran producer-director V. B. Rajendra Prasad, he debuted as a child artist in his father's *Manchi Manushulu* (1974) and made his lead debut in *Simha Swapnam* (1989). He found his commercial breakthrough with *Peddarikam* (1992) and Ram Gopal Varma's gritty thriller *Gaayam* (1993), which won him his first Nandi Award for Best Actor.
