Director
Wari Gálvez Rivas was born in Huancayo, Peru, in 1987. His artistic pursuits span literature, criticism, cultural studies, and film. He holds a Master's degree in Hispanic Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a diploma in screenwriting and film directing from the Centre d'Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and completed an internship at the University of Bonn, Germany. He regularly writes for his blog, El hablador profano, and his column, El rastacuero literario. He is the author of the book Cines de Cuaderno (El Tábano Sucio, 2016; winner of the 18th Architecture Biennial 2018), the short story collection Mudanzas modernos (Lluvia Editores, 2023), and the travel book Solo quería ver (Dendro, 2024).
